Isle au Haut Light
- Isle au Haut- 1907, Tower is gray granite on bottom and white brick on top.
                                                                      There is a bridge that connects the light to the shore.

Salt Bay
- Damariscotta- Bay and flats attract migrating shore birds. Roadside birdwatching .
Burnt Island Light- Southport- 1821, White stone tower. One of the oldest lights on the east coast. 2 miles from harbor.
The Cuckolds- Southport- 1892, White octagon tower was built on top of the existing building in 1907.
Hendricks Head Light- Southport- 1829, The present white square tower was bulit in 1875.
Monhegan Island Light
- Monhegan- 1850, The granite block tower is located on top of a hill in the center of the island.
Cathedral Woods
- Monhegan Island- Forest of tall spruce. Trails.
Ram Island Light
- Boothbay- 1883, Gray tower with red top. Joined to the island by a walkway.
Squirrel Point Light
- Arrowsic- 1898, Located on Arrowsic Island in the Kennebec River.

- Edgecomb- 1808-1809, Original octagon blockhouse with earthworks showing layers of construction.

Fort Knox
- Prospect- 1844, Offers protection to the Penobscot River. The only Maine fort with some original cannons.

Whitehead Light- St George- 1807 rebuilt 1852, Thomas Jefferson gave the orders to build the lighthouse.
                                                                                     Gray tower and attached to a red brick building.
Fort St Georges- St George- 1809, State owned fort. Accessible by boat. 
Martinicus Rock Light- Criehaven- 1848, Originally a wooden building & 2 wooden towers.
                                                                            Replaced with 2 granite towers. Light is automatic.

Grindle Point Light
- Islesboro- 1850 replaced in 1875. 54' from high water.
Bald Rock Mountain
- Lincolnville- 500' elev gain, Veiws of Mt Desert Island and Penobscot Bay islands.
                                                               Road to summit. 1/2 mile.
Head Tide- Alna- Holding pool above mill dam (abandoned). During spring run the water is filled with alewives.

Borestone Mountain- Onawa- Elliottsville TWP, 1100' elev gain, Mounatin beside a lake. Trails. 2 miles.
Big Wilson Cliffs- Onawa- Elliottsville TWP, 1000' elev gain, Slate outcrops have scenic views of the valley.
                                                  Accessible by the Appalachian Trail.

Slugundy Falls
- Onawa- Elliottsville TWP, Long Pond Stream, Falls with a log suspension bridge. Trails.
Little Wilson Falls
- Onawa- Little Wilson Stream, Elliottsville Plt, One of the highest falls in Maine (13 yards). Trails.
Gulf Hagas
- Brownville Junction- West Branch Pleasant River, Bowdoin College Grant East,
                                             "Grand Canyon of the East" and the Appalachian trail follows the edge, 3 mile canyon with
                                               5 waterfalls. Walls are up to 40 yards high. Logs were once driven through the gorge.
Hay Brook Falls- Brownville Junction- Bowdoin College Grant East,  Cascades with 3 chutes.
                                                                      Road access to Katahdin Iron Works. Trails.

Screw Auger Falls

Mount Kineo- Kineo- Kineo TWP, 700' cliffs, Mountain peninsula protruding into the lake. Accessible by
                                     water only. 4 hiking  trails and a lookout tower. Mountain biking trails, beach, and golf course.
Big Spencer Mountain- Northeast Carry, Wels TWP- 1900' evel gain. Views of Katahdin, Moosehead region &
                                                        Allagash lakes. Trail to ranger's cabin. Fire tower (manned). Base to summit 2 miles.
Number Four Mountain- Okadjo, Frenchtown TWP- 1700' elev gain. Views of Moosehead region.

Baxter Peak- Mt Katahdin Twp- The first place in the USA the morning sun touches, and the highest point in Maine.
The Chimney
- Mt Katahdin Twp- The north face of the peak has a nearly enclosed hollow area. Blocked internally
                                                              by 4 large wedged stones. 

Great Basin
- Mt Katahdin Twp- Glacial valley (horseshoe shaped) with steep walls of pink granite. Views and trails.
The Knife Edge- Mt Katahdin Twp- A steep ridge between 2 basins. Formed by pressure between 2 glaciers. 1 mile.
Northwest Basin- Baxter State Park- Mt Katahdin Twp- Unusual glacial rock knolls called "roches moutonees"
